DB Secure Solution on India’s Market - A & S Magazine
Since the new government came to power in India, foreign and local investments have been positive. Before the election, foreign investments lagged due to the uncertainty of the political stance, however now, the expectations are positive, and although current economic factors are complex, the overall trends are positive.
India is a huge market; just relying on domestic demand can sustain a certain economic power. “As everybody has confidence in the future, and start to increase investments, the economy will pick up quickly. I believe within six months, we can see a clear shift,” said Anil Dhawan, Chief Executive of DB Secure Solution .
“In the past, India imported several products. The New government is encouraging locally manufactured products – MADE IN INDIA .” explained Dhawan. “Hopefully, it should replace many security products currently imported from China. Many of the Chinese products are lacking the standard a good customer in India is looking at. This way it will be advantageous to improve the economy and also bring high quality locally supported equipment.”
“Following the past two or three year’s downturn, the minimum growth for 2015 will be at least 10 to 15 percent. As for the new government, a lot of infrastructure projects are being pushed forward, and it will take a minimum of at least 18 months before actual security demand comes in,” concluded Dhawan.

- Dr. G K Jain, Vice President and HOD – Urban Infrastructure, Intercontinental Consultants and Technocrats Pvt. Ltd
Mr. Anil Dhawan – CEO, DBSS made a presentation highlighting SMART CITY – A security stimulus
As per him it is important to note the exact definition of SMART CITY concept reflects the vision of its stake holders.
This is very relevant to Indian environment in view of it being a growing economy with many opportunities waiting for the right environment.
Even though one sees a major contrast in the existing scenario of Indian cities when compared to a fully devolved city of discipline and comfort, there are many factors that encourages its conception.
It is this reason the current government rightly includes the concept of SMART CITY on top of its agenda. It plans a Highway of prosperity based on core values of the concept.
As an example SURVEILLANE AT IITS BEST is a unique example of security effectiveness built on the concept of SMART CITY.
A close look on the performance proves the same and encourages to adopt the concept.
Developing NOS for Electronic & Technical Security IndustryToday, for Indian security industry in its stakeholder’s point of view, the DEMAND AND SUPPLY chain has an unusual relationship. Although the demand grows fast and vividly and gets acknowledged by new and effective solutions, the growing crime rate does not endorse a good balance between the two.
Continuous increasing threat level has always echoed the development of new security solutions spread across all aspects of security measures but true impact by way of adequate reduction in crime has always been missing.
Security experts are right in their analysis, crystalizing many factors responsible for general failure of security solutions but they all acknowledge lack of “operating skills” as one of the major reason for this imbalance. This is one factor missing in the society and making it highly vulnerable in spite of having invested majorly in security solutions adopting them to protect assets and human life.
Most of the electronic security systems lacks the performance as these are designed to offer on account of incorrect operations. In large size systems, this aspect is based on trained skill to operate them correctly. Technical qualification may not be essential to have this skill but a good knowledge and practical experience is very essential. Sadly, operators with manned guarding skills are positioned to handle the responsibilities based on their general awareness but not exposed to good training.
Security sector skill development council (SSSDC) set up under the National skill development council (NSDC) programme of the central government has rightly realized its importance in the field of electronic security systems, equipment’s and devices.
Having successfully achieved national operating standards (NOS) for manned guarding sector, SSSDC has added in its agenda the development of NOS for electronic security industry. In this regard SSSDC has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Asian professional security association – APSA, India chapter to develop operating skills based on sectors, level of operations, syllabus, durations and practical experience. Two pilot projects of the NOS have been developed on a defined roadmap to cover all aspects of effective operations. These draft NOS have been sent to SSSDC for obtaining approval of the Government. The sectors include electronic video surveillance system, electronic access control, electronic intruder alarm, perimeter protection, X- ray baggage machine, console operations room and conventional security equipment’s. NOS for each sector would define levels of operations and related skills. It will set course essential to qualify for each level of its defined syllabus and duration. The roadmap also includes mapping of each sector to analyze the correct and right level of operations and related skills. Initial draft of the course would be shared with the industry to bring transparency and effectiveness.
Once approved only the NOS would be finally released to be implemented. The entire security industry is overwhelmed with this initiative of SSSDC and eagerly waiting for the development and implementation of NOS under its leadership.
